 About the Project

We developed a web app which removes content from webpages (whose URLs are provided by the user) unrelated to a keyword (also provided by the user), we developed this with the aim of improving the ease with which research can be carried out on the internet as users will not have to waste time going through irrelevant information.
    
Meet the Team

I think an introduction to the team members is in order.

Team 1: User-Interface Development

The user-interface of the web app is a webpage which was developed by Abubaker Iqbal and Inifome Eleluwor.

Team 2: Back-End Processing Development

This is the part of the application which implements the filtering algorithm (the most important part! Haha just kidding), it was developed by Wellington Okotobei.

Team 3: IO (Input/Output) Stream Development

This component is responsible for the communication between the user-interface and the back-end processing. Its was developed by Ali Al Mohannadi and Nawaf Almulla.

Second Webpage Design Result of Desktop-Interfaced Back-End Processing Further improvements were made to the previous implementations. Team 1: User-Interface Development Made improvements to the webpage's initial layout, the new implementation is shown below, and the new webpage layout is shown above. This second webpage design still has some issues: the dimensions of the webpage are too small, and all the information is clustered together.  Second Webpage Implementation Team 2: Back-End Processing Development Replaced the original method for extracting content from the webpage with a more powerful one, but was too complex to accommodate, so decided to keep the first implementation. Week 4 and 5: Research and Development Stage III

Final Webpage Design Result of the final implementation of the IO Stream and Back-End Processing Final improvements were made to the previous implementations. Team 1: User-Interface Development Made last improvements to the webpage's second layout, the final implementation is shown below and the new webpage layout is shown above. This new layout is much closer to our original design specifications. It consists of two user inputs that are clear to the user. The theme of the webpage is dark with a clear heading, all of which compliments our initial thoughts of a simple design.    Final Webpage Implementation Team 3 and Team 2: IO (Input/Output) Development and Back-End Processing Development Coupled the Back-End processing module with the IO Stream module and finalized the code. Issue of IO Stream functioning only on Windows persists, but there was not enough time to fix it.
